Sun and Moon

That inspiring “The Last Jedi” quote compelled a response. 🙂

Hope is like the sun;
If you only believe it when you see it
You’ll never make it through the night.

Faith is like the moon;
If you should be blinded in the darkest of times
Look to the heavens for it’ll shine a light.

When The Lights Are Down

When lights are down and stars are out, the morrow begins where Love is found.

Traveller

Featuring quotes from Oscar Wilde and The Saint.

For every saint has a past
And every sinner a future
Here I am at the cross-
Roads, a traveller seeking truth;
My paths they dwindle and falter
But the light shall guide my steps
So give me chastity and give me
Constancy, but do not give it yet.

Love is:

Someone asked me my definition of love the other day; I’d given an off-the-cuff reply but then realized I had never really thought about what it is to me – I just feel what I think is love. So I delved and got these below. I may not be adept in every aspect yet, but surely I’ll get better with every step.

Love is:

Inexplicable attraction and
Enduring commitment
It is acceptance without judgment
That breathes life and renews hope

It is a listening ear, a protective embrace
A tempered temperament of trust, faith and grace
It remains steadfast amidst despair
And guides us out from darkness’ lair

Love gives without reason
It wants nothing to its name
Except perhaps a greater wisdom
In higher places it will bring.

Angel Eyes

This prose is surely not mine
And only a title will I give;
But those who know it know its depths
And the depths it shall redeem.

And when the shaves of pure light
Dance in her clear eyes,
I see my angel for the first time,
Know my purpose, feel my birth,
Hear, at first faintly, then distinctly,
The sweet strains of our union,
Our love heats up the cold universe,
And gives my tired, desperate hope a
Reason and season to be revealed,
We, purified by our kisses,
Are eternally healed.

– ‘Thomas More’ in “The Saint”
