Straightened

Today my hairdresser remarked that getting a new do is like a getting a new beginning. That reminds me.

Today I straightened those
Tresses, from waves I hate yet
Self-imposed to forget

The irons glide, scalding
Ominous yet redeeming, dissipating
Last memories in wisps;
Rebond thence to reborn

Today I straightened those
Tresses, from waves I hate and
Henceforth shall forget.

Ring Me Tonight: Spoof Lyrics

Here’s a spoof that surfaced while conversing with a musician friend some weeks ago; all tech-victims should relate very well to these words. 🙂

How can you deem me telling lies when I don’t call
Leading you on, it’s not my fault
When I can’t find my phone

Without a sound
My cellphone’s sleeping somewhere cold
Until I find out where it is in my home

(Ring me up) Ring me up tonight
(I can’t pick up) Ring me up tonight
(Save me) Call my number help me find my phone
(Ring me up) Bid my feet to run
(I can’t pick up) Before the ringing’s done
(Save me) Save me from the wreck that I’ve become

Now that I know what I’m without
You can’t just hang up on me
Dial to my phone and make it ring, ring me tonight

(Ring me up) Ring me up tonight
(I can’t pick up) Ring me up tonight
(Save me) Call my number help me find my phone
(Ring me up) Bid my feet to run
(I can’t pick up) Before the ringing’s done
(Save me) Save me from the wreck that I’ve become
Ring me tonight
(I’ve been looking alright
But it’s nowhere in sight)
Ring me tonight

Frozen in time without your texts, Whatsapps or calls, darling
Only you can find my phone among the mess

All this time, I can’t believe I couldn’t see
Searched in the pile, it could be there in front of me

I’ve been searching all the wrong places here it seems
Got to open my eyes to everything

Without a thought, without a voice, without a call
Can’t find my phone here
There must be something wrong
Ring me tonight

(Ring me up) Ring me up tonight
(I can’t pick up) Ring me up tonight
(Save me) Call my number help me find my phone
(Ring me up) Bid my feet to run
(I can’t pick up) Before the ringing’s done
(Save me) Save me from the wreck that I’ve become
Ring me tonight
(I’ve been looking alright
But it’s nowhere in sight)
Ring me tonight

Daily Prompt: I just wanna chill, got a sack for us to roll

I stirred and awoke,
Between the sheets in your room
To the sight of deep eyes
On a sultry afternoon

I yawned to your tease
While you grinned to my smile
But we just wanna chill on your sack
For a little more while.

I’m Losing You

I’m losing you; a
Beautiful plot takes on life
With its own twisted end

I’m losing you; an
Attraction subconsciously drew
Yet repels now at tangents

I’m losing you; a
Futile regret for the unforeseen
That could not be otherwise

O what comic tragedy!
That devastation should strike in
Midst of pure ecstasy.
