Daily Prompt: Sink or Swim

There I stood
Edged into the corner
I closed my eyes
There’s nowhere to go
Can’t run and hide
Devastation, that
Leeched and drained
I hung on, bloodied
Adamant and teeth-gritted
Through the final lap
Towards destination.

Daily Prompt: Now You See Me

The power of
Teleporting at whim
Shall bring lots of surprises
Pleasant or otherwise
To unsuspecting friends
Caught up in their
Mundane affairs
Or simply lend a
Timely hand to
Those in dangerous need;
What a wonderfully
Superb talent
To be hidden
That hides within me!

Daily Prompt: Hear No Evil

I actually hadn’t heard anything I shouldn’t – or maybe I chose to forget – so here’s how I imagine it to be:

Catching a forbidden snippet
A rumour, lie or secret
Sends one’s heart racing
Blood gushes, face flushes
The mind changes its mind
While one could never
Unlearn what one
Has learnt.

Daily Prompt: Tattoo….You?

The man’s got three, so I guess that’s enough for the family. 😉

The quiet demeanour
Belies stories etched in
Coloured ink, of
Snarling tigers that prowl
Thorny barbs entwining the days
As, majestic, the eagle
Swoops and pays homage to
The rebelliousness of
Yesteryear’s youth and
Life’s veteran today.
